Vehicle Safety Recall Notice

On April 18, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released information that particular vehicles may be part of a current safety recall that could pose risks to drivers and passengers alike. If these defects do not get instant repairs, they could lead to injury or even death.

What is a recall? Recalls are issued by NHTSA when a determination is made that a vehicle creates an unreasonable safety risk or doesn’t meet the safety standards necessary. Safety defects are defined as problems that exist in a vehicle due to defective equipment, and pose a risk to motor vehicle safety overall. They may actually exist in a group of vehicles with the same design or manufacture, or items of equipment that have the same type of manufacture. So, what this means to you as the consumer, is that a defect has been identified that will affect your day-to-day life driving your particular vehicle model.

What happens if my car is part of a recall? If you have received a letter in the mail signifying a recall, you should always contact your local dealership for a remedy. Your vehicle will be serviced for free according to the recall.
